@neilhimself: Hilarious and sad. I’ve just discovered that a quote of mine from SANDMAN is now being misattributed to Shakespeare google.com/search?… “It is a fool’s prerogative to utter truths that no one else will speak” Genius. Think the mixup is because Gaiman has Shakespeare as a character!

Why Twitter’s New Retweet Feature Sucks →
The new features also assumes that RT’ing something always means that you agree with it. That it’s a Google-esque “vote” for that content. That’s not the case. Sometimes I’m retweeting things because I think the content is moronic and I want to add my own commentary and point it out. I don’t get that right anymore. EXACTLY. What is the point in re-tweeting if you can’t add YOUR thoughts?!...

Twitter Blog: Think Globally, Tweet Locally →
In August we announced that we were working on a new API that would provide developers with the ability to geotag tweets. Today, the Geotagging API is officially available. Joy to the world. Not

Blogger Buzz: Coming up Next... →
We’ve made the Next Blog link more useful, by taking you to a blog that you might like. The new and improved Next Blog link will now take you to a blog with similar content, in a language that you understand. If you are reading a Spanish blog about food, the Next Blog link will likely take you to another blog about food. In Spanish! Wait, you mean I won’t get to go to a blog about...

Channel 4's Smokescreen §  →
“You don’t know me, but I know you…” Smokescreen is a cutting-edge game about life online. We all use Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and MSN to keep up with our mates - and we’ve all heard the stories about parties on Facebook being mobbed, or people getting stalked on MSN. The question is, what would you do if it happened to you? Over 13 missions, Smokescreen follows the...

UnMarketing » Blog Archive » Sorry, You’ve Been... →
This is what happens on a Twitter phishing expedition: 1. You get a Direct Message from someone you follow:phish4 2. Being the narcissistic ego-maniacs “self-interested” people that we are, we obviously want to see what great video we may be in (or not-so-great) so we click on the link 3. Up pops a login screen asking for your Twitter name and password 4. People thinking it’s something to do...

YouTube Blog: Typophile User Inspires Favicon... →
An enterprising blogger at Typophile recently pointed out that our favicon was fairly unreadable in a post that caught our eye. We didn’t disagree with him and so we took him up on his suggestion, made a few extra tweaks and have now launched it on the site Basically it’s just using sub-pixel rendering. Glad they didn’t go with the Typophile user’s version - it was far...

Forbes.com | Review of Apple's Magic Mouse →
BURLINGAME, Calif. — It’s a good thing Apple’s latest mouse is wireless. Because if it weren’t, frustrated users might actually try to hang themselves with it. This review just cracked me up. Apple you make beautiful things, but they’re right you SUCK at mouses (yes, I meant “mouses”, but I was paranoid enough to check I was right. Yippee, I was!).

Testing new tweet notifications
twitterstatus: We’re starting a limited test of notifications on twitter.com for when you have new tweets. So if one of the folks you follow has tweeted since you loaded your homepage, you’ll get a little notice saying “1 new tweet” that, when clicked, will display the new content. We think it improves the tweet consumption experience and hope to roll it out to everyone as soon as we can.

A Common Nomenclature for Lego Families by Giles... →
Thousands of different Lego exist, yet when your seven-year-old asks for “a clippy bit,” you know exactly what to hand him. GILES TURNBULL surveys a caucus of children and determines a common nomenclature. If this isn’t the best thing you’ve read today - you’re an idiot. (or you have a very groovy, far more interesting life) :P

Twitter Reveals More Lists Power With A Widget →
The List Widget is exactly what you’d expect: A widget that you can place on your blog that displays a list of your choosing. One nice thing is that this can be a list you made or one any user has made (that is public). If you simply type in a user’s name, it will show their lists in a drop down menu. You then give the list a title, a caption, customize its look and feel, and you’re good to go. ...

List of auto-antonyms in English →
This is a list of auto-antonyms in English — that is, words which in and of themselves have two or more generally accepted meanings in the English language that directly or generally contradict each other. Such words are also known as antagonyms, contronyms, and words having self-contradictions. Many such contradefinitions arise from slang usage. Others develop as a result of their frequent...
